Is it Spring yet????
Remember when you went on a car ride and all you could say is “are we there yet? Well that is how I feel about spring! It is almost February and the sun is shinning for a longer time. Beginning February 1st, Valley Rock will be open until 5:00 pm.
Here are some item to work on as Spring magically begins to emerge.
Plant Spring bulbs – you know how this will make you smile. This is easy to do, and it gets you in the ground digging again.
Cool-season crop suggestions – Transplant or sow seeds for beets, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower etc. Yum, bring on the veggies!
Cool-season annuals – Plant annuals in containers, hanging baskets, or in the garden. Keep under an over hang on our cool mornings to protect from frost. And water!! the cold dehydrates us and the plants.
Hard-scape time – Be preventative now for our extreme dry season ahead. Create a buffer around your home. Begin with cleaning up leaves, debris, and anything up against your home. Install hard-scape around the parameter of your home. It can be as simple as creating a rock pathway next to your exterior, laying down flagstone on a rock bed, or installing pavers. Every little bit helps! And above all else – Keep digging!
