Since 1992
Summer, summer time is here, my time of year.
Did you know that June 24th is Midsummer day? The half way point between planting and harvest. Wow, how time flies here in my back yard. So many things to do on a midsummers day, read a book, have a picnic or star gaze at night. But most of all it is important to give your plants and vegetable garden a little burst of energy.
Now I like to get my energy by digging up one of my bones that I have buried. But for you humans this is the perfect time to add some amendments soil (organic compost or humus) and fertilizers. All of the products I have recommended have that wonderful organic smell that I so love! If you are adding soil amendments, just spread some on top of your existing soil. If you are adding fertilizers, I recommend the Mission brand of “Sweeten”. Mostly because I love the name, but mainly because it works! So enjoy your midsummers day this week. And treat your garden and yourself to a little burst of energy. Remember, summer is my time of year. Happy Digging!
